WHO IS DR. ESKANDER?
Dr. Noha Eskander (MRChB, MRCPsych, Approved Clinician Under The Secretary Of State) is a Child & Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years experience in Psychiatry and a full member of The Royal College Of Psychiatry. She has worked extensively across the UK for both the NHS and the private sector in some of the leading Trusts and Specialist Hospitals dealing with psychiatric issues. She has a particular interest in Eating Disorders, Attachment Disorders and Emotional Disorders such as Anxiety, Depression, OCD and PTSD and is highly skilled in diagnosing and treating ADHD.
She strongly believes that it is critical to catch and treat mental health disorders early before they set in later, in adulthood. With a family herself she knows that unlike many other medical conditions like Diabetes or Blood Pressure, Mental Health affects not only the individual but also all those around them and causes huge stress to those who love and care about that person.
She is known for her in depth analysis of problems and her comprehensive treatment plans as well as her compassion and easy to talk to nature.
WHY THE NAME ACORN PSYCHIATRY ?
Dr. Noha Eskander set up Acorn Psychiatry, naming it after something she once read, stating that,
“sometimes, even when you feel like a small seed surrounded by the dark and dirt, with no sign or belief that the sun even exists, deep under a tonne of soil on your shoulders, all it takes is for someone to notice you’re there, care for you, ask about you, know what you need and then give it to you, before you burst out free from the darkness and into the light, growing into the mightiest and strongest of trees“
